• Remind yourself to disclose to the utility company that you're moving.
• No matter what a moving company tells you, it is federal law for them to hold your furniture.
• While it is not required by law in some states, be sure to do an in-person go-over with your landlord prior to moving out. This way you can address any issues on the spot.
