• Before starting to pack items up, be sure to create copies of crucial documents like birth certificates and tax returns and keep them in a secure place.
• Place pads or blankets on the floor when moving large furniture. This will make sure that you don't damage the floors during the move.
• If you are moving into an apartment, find out whether it is required to reserve the elevator and whether there are any blocked off days for moving.
